EAL

English as an Additional Language is celebrated and valued here at Aureus Primary School. If your child speaks another language at home before English then they are categorised as EAL.

Aureus Primary School will provide baseline assessments where applicable to understand their level of proficiency and put in place relevant interventions to help acquire English as a good rate.

Our new arrivals will be taught additional lessons of English Language to include the four key skills of: reading, writing, listening and speaking as well as grammar, vocabulary and punctuation.

Our students will have access to Rosetta Stone to develop their English Language speaking, listening and comprehension skills at home.

Here are some websites with games and activities to help your child develop their English:

The BBC World Service Learning English
English Club
Children’s University
