GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.
Our year 4 children had the pleasure of a visit from the Anglo-Saxon Workshop. During the session the children focused on the artwork and distinctive patterns used by the Anglo Saxons. They undertook activities including making a copper brooch, burial object handling and discovering the Hanney brooch.
Each of our schools has its own distinct character and culture which is respectful of its community and context but their utmost common ground is that it is our staff that make each school.
