Uniform

We endeavour to achieve a high standard in all of our activities at our school, and we expect this to be reflected both in the appearance and behaviour of our pupils.

All pupils must have full school uniform, worn correctly, for daily attendance at school. Uniform will also be worn on occasions when children are representing the school, including school visits. Parents and carers are asked to co-operate fully by providing the uniform and ensuring children wear it correctly to and from school, and at other times as required. Branded items are available from our supplier, Trutex, Didcot. The only compulsory branded items are clearly marked in the uniform list below.

Additional branded items at the choice of families. Other branded items, such as book bags, PE bags and House logo t-shirts, are optional; families may choose non-logo alternatives where stated, or purchase these from Trutex.

Non-logo items can be purchased from any high-street shop or supermarket of your choice.

Our school uniform requirements are as follows:

Reception and Year 1 Uniform:

• Grey Aureus Primary sweatshirt or cardigan *Compulsory item
• White Polo Shirt
• Black trousers, shorts, skirt or pinafore dress (black canvas, skinny trousers, leggings or jeans may not be worn)
• Black shoes or plain black trainers with no markings, decorative stitching or explicit sports logos. Black boots, plimsolls, sandals, canvas, jelly or suede shoes may not be worn
• Black or white socks or black tights
• Appropriate waterproof coat
• Yellow checked summer dress
• Rucksack (optional logo)
• Water bottle
• A summer hat
• Black book bag (optional logo)
• Wellies for Reception children for outside play

Year 2 and above uniform:

• Grey Aureus Primary sweatshirt or cardigan *Compulsory item
• Grey and Black School Tie (clip-on or elasticated) *Compulsory item
• White cotton button up shirt (no polo-shirt for Key Stage 2)
• Black trousers, shorts, skirt or pinafore dress (black canvas, skinny trousers, leggings or jeans may not be worn)
• Black shoes or plain black trainers with no markings, decorative stitching or explicit sports logos. Black boots, plimsolls, sandals, canvas, jelly or suede shoes may not be worn
• Black or white socks or black tights
• Appropriate waterproof coat

• Rucksack (optional)
• Water bottle
• A summer hat

PE Kit: Reception onwards

Reception children are required to get changed for PE at school as this is part of their Early Years Learning Goals, however all children from Year 1 upwards will come into school dressed in their PE kits on their PE days.

• House colour t-shirt (Invictus - Green, Big Ben - Red or Nobel - Blue) *logo t-shirts are available to purchase from Trutex but are no longer compulsory*
• Black shorts, black leggings or jogging bottoms
• Black sweatshirt or zip up top (no hoodies)
• Outdoor sports trainers (not fashion trainers)
• Drawstring PE bag for Reception children * logo PE bag is available to purchase from Trutex but is no longer compulsory*

 What uniform do Nursery need?

We require our Nursery children to wear the same uniform as our Reception children with regards to a white polo shirt and Aureus logo jumper. The bottom part of the uniform should be supportive for the children in encouraging confidence and independence with toileting; therefore, any black bottoms such as jogging bottoms, leggings or skirts can be worn.

What footwear will Nursery children need?

Nursery children need to wear comfortable and sensible shoes.  They will also need a pair of wellies for outside.

Do Nursery children need a book bag?

No, they do not.

Jewellery, Hair ornaments, make-up and nail varnish

For health and safety reasons we do not allow children to wear jewellery.  The exceptions to this rule are ear-ring studs in pierced ears, and small objects of religious significance.  Children are required to remove any items during PE lessons to prevent them from causing injury. Please note: Teachers are not permitted to remove earrings. Hair bands, ribbons/bows or ‘scrunchies’ should be plain black, or the school brand sold by Trutex.

Make-up, nail varnish and false nails should not be worn to school unless for an out-of-school-hours function, for example a school disco or a production. Extreme hairstyles are not appropriate for school. The use of styling products should be kept to a minimum, and children should not have decorative patterns cut or shaven into their hair or have their hair coloured or dyed.

Headwear and religious clothing may be worn (for religious purposes only) and should be either plain black or grey (baseball caps and bandanas may not be worn)

Footwear

For health and safety reasons, we do not allow children to wear shoes with platform soles or high heels.  All children are required to wear plain black shoes as stated in the uniform list.  If boots are worn in the winter, these should not have heels on them, and they should be plain black. If boots are large and prevent children from sitting comfortably on the floor, they may be asked to change into their PE shoes whilst inside the school building.   

Second-hand uniform

‘Pre-loved’ uniform will be sold at the end of each term at a heavily discounted rate or without charge on a discretionary basis. Please refer to notices in the school newsletter and on Class Dojo for updates. Or speak to Mrs Heathcott, our Home School Link Worker.
