GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Secondary school admissions

Make an application to secondary school

Parents/Carers of children in Year 6 must apply for a Secondary School place during September - October the year before their child is due to transition.

We are proud be part of GLF Schools, the same Academy Trust with Aureus School, rated Good in all areas by Ofsted in 2024. Pupils from Aureus Primary School are able to enjoy a number of taster sessions at Aureus School in preparation of the transistion to secondary education.

Consider schools in your catchment area

Many, but not all, secondary schools have catchment (or designated) areas.

Where your child has a catchment area school, they are more likely to get a place, but it isn't guaranteed. If there are more applications than places, Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) follow the school's published admission rules to decide priority. OCC advise that you list your catchment school as one of your preferences if there is one for your address.

You can find details of catchment areas for schools that use them on OCC's list of schools page.

Attending their catchment school does not guarantee that your child will get free home to school transport.

You can find more information about applications and appeals via the links to OCC's website below.
